Not Alone
When we go through times of feeling overwhelmed it always helps to know we have someone with us. That person might bring comfort, wisdom, resources or simply energy that we struggle to muster within ourselves. In Haiti the children and communities get a chance to feel that they are not alone. They find more choices and hope through partnerships showing someone cares. Consider the feeling a child has when they experience the following every day:
- A chance to enthusiastically learn with friends that are in the same place they are
- Knowledge that others from another country made sure that there would be a meal, uniforms and books provided
- Access to medical help and checkups that might otherwise be beyond their ability to get
- Care from group of leaders that will help with body, mind and soul
- Seeing leaders that were once students like them succeed
God promised in Deuteronomy 31:6 “Be strong and courageous… for the LORD your God goes with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you.” What a privilege to be a part of fulfilling that promise.
When a child has a place to go to learn and feel care, there is a daily reminder they are not alone. They then bring that hope and knowledge back home with them. It reminds their family and community that they are not alone as well.
