Getting Real
Connections within the Mission E4 greater family can get real in a hurry. All it takes is a sad text about a young student who succumbed fatally to the dangers in Haiti. The request to remember a boy’s family, teachers, and friends, from a leader, brought the realities to the forefront of my mind and heart. That was followed by the phone call to his sponsor to let them know that a new child needed to be chosen.
In a world of constant and overwhelming information, it is easy to create a bubble to deal with the reality all around us. A life worth living though, experiences the pain and the joy. We might never understand the fruits of the spirit without experiencing times of significant lack of joy, peace, love, kindness, understanding, gentleness, and self-control.
The tireless results of the staff and generous sponsor giving also became real in such a positive and inspiring way. As we listened to the reports from the school principals, during a recent meeting, my heart was greatly encouraged. One after another gave reports of health, hope and happiness made possible by the care and love provided. The hopes and dreams, nurtured through the program, impact lives that God has planned for since the beginning of time. One child was boldly sharing with his family, deceived by Voodoo, the love and truth of God. Another was thriving as they learned and discovered their gifts and potential. Others found safety and basic needs being met.
Do not grow weary of doing good but rather live a vibrant life fully dedicated to God that really really loves us.
John 10:10 - "I came that they may have life and have it more abundantly."
